My top 6 hacks to help you stick to your workouts! πππΌ
1️⃣
On Sunday night plan out your week of workouts in your training diary
& put reminders in your phone! If you make time for your workouts
your 100% more likely to stick to them! ✏️
2️⃣ If your working out
early in the morning set up your training clothes and shoes at the foot
of your bed AND put your alarm in the opposite corner of the room so you
have to get out of bed to turn it off in the morning! ⏰
3️⃣ Have training clothes and shoes in your car so you can stop by the gym or park on the way home from work/school! π
4️⃣
Organise a walk/workout/gym date during the week with a friend or
family member. Other people will keep you accountable! π―♀️
5️⃣ Have
a collection of workouts you can do at home in your living room so you
always have a back up if it’s miserable outside and you don’t want to
leave the house! ⛈
6️⃣ Make a tip jar. Every time you commit to a
workout, put in $2. By the end of the month you’ll be able to treat
yourself to new workout clothes (or new shoes in 3months!) πΈ

It’s funny how this account has become so ‘yoga-ish’ π
I
started out my career as a personal trainer, and then finished 2 degrees
during that time to finally become a qualified Exercise Physiologist
and elite athletics coach...Fitness, workouts & running have always
been my speciality (and passion) and I guess when I found yoga, it
became such a huge part of my life because it provided me with physical
& mental recovery amongst an otherwise intense training schedule
π§πΌ♀️ although I have great balance between yoga practise &
workouts in my ‘real life’, it looks like I’ve favoured sharing the

How do I get flexible?!
I get this question SO often, and many
people think that being flexible is just not possible for them BUT, the
truth is, anyone can get flexible, no matter what stage you might be at
now.
Flexibility is all about exposing your body to extended range of movement, consistently...and that’s the key word.
Consistency.
Spending
time on stretching or yoga everyday will improve your flexibility
tremendously. Even just 15min daily will help you more than just 1 or 2
long stretching sessions a week.
One of the best ways I like to mix
my stretching/yoga into my day is to do it first thing in the morning,
or just before bed at night. Morning stretching helps your body release
feel good hormones and helps you start a positive flow of energy for
your day π« Night time stretching releases tension and stress that you
might have built up over the day and prepares your body for rest and
healing. I also stretch in front of the tv at night if I haven’t had the
chance to fit it in during the day! π)
Looking after your mobility
is also the number one way to avoid chronic pain (lower back pain
anyone?!?) and injury (like rotator cuff issues & knee problems)

Backbends. Probably my favourite posture simply because of the way they make me feel afterwards π
If
you think about your day, we all ‘forward bend’ and compress the front
of our body ALOT...sitting at work/school, in the car, while you eat,
and even while you chill on the couch watching TV πΊ
Backbends counteract all of this.
They
improve your posture, releases neck strain, allows your spine to
decompress, helps to open your lungs and breath deeper, massages your
kidneys to stimulate the flush of toxins, lengthen your hip flexors
(which releases lower back pain) and also stimulates the nervous system
which gives you an energy boost!⚡️

Rest day today!! ππΌ So many people think my workout routine is
super strict and intense, and I can tell you right now that YES, I
‘workout’ everyday...BUT I also mix up my training to have light and
heavy days ππͺπΌ
ππΌ
Here’s what I did this week:
MON: 30min Yoga in the morning + 20min bodyweight HIIT circuit at home
TUE:
1hr Sprinting session at the track (this includes warm up, running
exercises, 6 x 200m sprints with rest in between, core exercises &
stretching)
WED: 20min HIIT circuit at home + 40min Stretch in front of the tv at night
THU: 30min Yoga & gymnastic skills in the morning + 40min walk with the pups in the afternoon
FRI: 20min HIIT & some 50m sprints at the park + 20min Yoga in the evening
TODAY: NOTHING! (Just walked to our local cafe with @adam.m.dunne and @westcoast_weenies & had a winter dip at the beach! π)
TOMORROW: Maybe a skate along the coast & stretching in the evening π¬

My
weeks aren’t always like this, sometimes I run more, or lift weights,
or bike ride, or do more yoga, or even rest more!...but my main goal is
always to give my body as much variety as possible and to interchange
heavy and light days of training to give my body rest (even if it is
active rest like walking the pups ☺️)
Having a healthy workout
routine isn’t always about intensity. It’s about CONSISTENCY and doing
things for your body that you can maintain for a lifetime! πͺπΌ #myweekofworkouts #yogalife

Sometimes not knowing is the greatest gift.
It’s where excitement hides.
If
I knew exactly where I would be and what I would be doing everyday for
the next 10 years...I would have no space to dream, to wonder, or to be
surprised.
Things might not go the way I expect, and usually those
moments are the ones that have taught me the biggest lessons. Patience,
bravery, strength, grit.
Be open to the unknown.
Take something away from every moment.
Because at the end of the day, you are not owed anything. You can not expect or predict what should, would, or did happen.
All that is guaranteed to you is your ability to experience this moment, and your willingness to mould to the next.
Don’t be stuck in expectations. Be free to wonder what happens next.

Today’s BOOTY BURN! π₯π₯π₯ (exercise 4 is my favourite!! π) We
all love a good butt workout but did you know that having strong glutes
can help improve your technique in running, squats, lunges, walking and
pretty much every lower body exercise!! π± Strong glutes can also
prevent overuse injuries like knees, lower back, hips, shin splints
& ankles! ππΌ
ππΌ
Try 20 reps (each side) of exercise
1-4...have a 1min rest then repeat πͺπΌ *Make sure you switch ON your
core and don’t let your lower back arch and over activate!!
Add these glute burners to the end of every workout you do and I promise you’ll notice the difference! ππ #bootyworkout #glutes

Full Story :- In 2011 my life was reversed. In the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India had been six months since competing for Australia in Women's Pol Vault. I came home with my London Olympics and started my first block of training towards my dream. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be an Olympic athlete, and here I was preparing to do something that I wanted in my whole life.
I started struggling to recover from my training sessions and generally felt drought during the day. As a naturally energetic and shy person, it did not feel like me. In the coming months, my symptoms have worsened, even sleeping for more hours. I felt that I could not sleep, I felt flu-swept all the time, my glands became swollen and I was getting light all the time.
I visited the doctor's week after week, the experts were directed to the tests, took my dose of iron and B vitamins, light training loads and more days were closed. I wanted to train and want to make me again. I had lost my spark but nobody got the solution. My tests were coming back but I was feeling worse. Not knowing what was wrong was breaking me.
After months of surprise, I was finally diagnosed with chronic fatigue.
Through many months of trying to do everything I could have been fine and could have been normal, there was something I had not yet had. Stop Pole Vault In my mind leaning this decision, I met my coach, Alex. Alex was not only for me in my athletics world but also in my day-to-day life. If a person had to understand what I was doing, then he would. She herself was a world-class athlete, which was the best, and she also had to reduce her athletic career due to injury.
He understood that I had to give my body a chance to recover. And he understood the pain of leaving a thing which I liked the most in my life. Since the time I grew up with the dream, I was feeling a little girl like it was torn in with my understanding. I was lost for some time after this.
For the first time in my life the routine of regular training was over. I separated myself from the track. I could not face the questions, it became difficult for me to talk about it with my family. It was such a painful time in my life that I just wanted to play athletics drama.
I simply simplified my life. There were wonderful people around me who actually helped me during months after my diagnosis. Especially one person raised me every time when I was down. My companion Adam I met him in 2011, when I was trying to train and compete with chronic fatigue.
He was there through the struggle and through my lowest point, but every time I broke it reminded me to give up. He inspired me to take a position and make it the best. Controlling your own recovery involves taking control.
During a visit to the doctor at the end of 2011, anti-depressant was determined to help me in my symptoms. When I came home after that visit then there was nothing wrong with me. To help me feel better I did not have the right to put my trust in a little bullet. I came home with packets in hand, stood for a moment and then threw it into the bin. From that point on, I was in control.
I started to know about health and nutrition. I had learned the basics by completing my Bachelor degree in Sport Science, but now I wanted to extend this knowledge to something that I could use for myself and my health. I read books, searched the Internet, went to my university grades, talked to nutritionists, and immersed myself in the information itself.
This is where my passion for health really started to grow. I realized that the most fundamental element to affect my health was the decision that I was making daily. Decision about food, how to move, what to think, everything.
As much as I learned, I made better decisions every day. And I started seeing a change
It took a while, but I started developing a different perspective of food. I have now seen every meal as a chance to cure my body and feed healthy and nutritious food. After weeks and months I saw that I was starting to feel better. I still had good and bad days, but in the days I thought it seemed really awful. 1️⃣ On Sunday night plan out your week of workouts in your training diary & put reminders in your phone! If you make time for your workouts your 100% more likely to stick to them! ✏️
2️⃣ If your working out early in the morning set up your training clothes and shoes at the foot of your bed AND put your alarm in the opposite corner of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off in the morning! ⏰
3️⃣ Have training clothes and shoes in your car so you can stop by the gym or park on the way home from work/school! π
4️⃣ Organise a walk/workout/gym date during the week with a friend or family member. Other people will keep you accountable! π―♀️
5️⃣ Have a collection of workouts you can do at home in your living room so you always have a back up if it’s miserable outside and you don’t want to leave the house! ⛈
6️⃣ Make a tip jar. Every time you commit to a workout, put in $2. By the end of the month you’ll be able to treat yourself to new workout clothes (or new shoes in 3months!) πΈ

I get this question SO often, and many people think that being flexible is just not possible for them BUT, the truth is, anyone can get flexible, no matter what stage you might be at now.
Flexibility is all about exposing your body to extended range of movement, consistently...and that’s the key word.
Consistency.
Spending time on stretching or yoga everyday will improve your flexibility tremendously. Even just 15min daily will help you more than just 1 or 2 long stretching sessions a week.
One of the best ways I like to mix my stretching/yoga into my day is to do it first thing in the morning, or just before bed at night. Morning stretching helps your body release feel good hormones and helps you start a positive flow of energy for your day π« Night time stretching releases tension and stress that you might have built up over the day and prepares your body for rest and healing. I also stretch in front of the tv at night if I haven’t had the chance to fit it in during the day! π)
Looking after your mobility is also the number one way to avoid chronic pain (lower back pain anyone?!?) and injury (like rotator cuff issues & knee problems) ππΌ

If you think about your day, we all ‘forward bend’ and compress the front of our body ALOT...sitting at work/school, in the car, while you eat, and even while you chill on the couch watching TV πΊ
Backbends counteract all of this.
They improve your posture, releases neck strain, allows your spine to decompress, helps to open your lungs and breath deeper, massages your kidneys to stimulate the flush of toxins, lengthen your hip flexors (which releases lower back pain) and also stimulates the nervous system which gives you an energy boost!⚡️

Here’s what I did this week:
MON: 30min Yoga in the morning + 20min bodyweight HIIT circuit at home
TUE: 1hr Sprinting session at the track (this includes warm up, running exercises, 6 x 200m sprints with rest in between, core exercises & stretching)
WED: 20min HIIT circuit at home + 40min Stretch in front of the tv at night
THU: 30min Yoga & gymnastic skills in the morning + 40min walk with the pups in the afternoon
FRI: 20min HIIT & some 50m sprints at the park + 20min Yoga in the evening
TODAY: NOTHING! (Just walked to our local cafe with @adam.m.dunne and @westcoast_weenies & had a winter dip at the beach! π)
TOMORROW: Maybe a skate along the coast & stretching in the evening π¬

My weeks aren’t always like this, sometimes I run more, or lift weights, or bike ride, or do more yoga, or even rest more!...but my main goal is always to give my body as much variety as possible and to interchange heavy and light days of training to give my body rest (even if it is active rest like walking the pups ☺️)
Having a healthy workout routine isn’t always about intensity. It’s about CONSISTENCY and doing things for your body that you can maintain for a lifetime! πͺπΌ #myweekofworkouts #yogalife

It’s where excitement hides.
If I knew exactly where I would be and what I would be doing everyday for the next 10 years...I would have no space to dream, to wonder, or to be surprised.
Things might not go the way I expect, and usually those moments are the ones that have taught me the biggest lessons. Patience, bravery, strength, grit.
Be open to the unknown.
Take something away from every moment.
Because at the end of the day, you are not owed anything. You can not expect or predict what should, would, or did happen.
All that is guaranteed to you is your ability to experience this moment, and your willingness to mould to the next.
Don’t be stuck in expectations. Be free to wonder what happens next.

It's the way I live here
It has been a long road since 2011 but I am grateful for every step of the journey. In the last few years, I have learned the most about myself and how I want to live my life. The way I am living now includes some simple philosophies that I follow everyday. It has been a while since I have been working to find out what works for me and hitting my lower point in it, but through this I actually started not only understanding my boundaries, but it also excites me.
The way it was felt that at times I felt that I would never get old back to me, but the one thing that prevented me from leaving was understandable that whatever positive efforts I was making was It does not matter how small, I was helping to grow.Changing my mindset to look positive in every situation has changed my experience of my path and life. It is all about small efforts made by me, steps taken by me and small accomplishments on the way. They all grow and they all bring me happiness.
Never stop making your life what you want it to be.
